Gerald A. Moore Sr. has over 20-years as a Cybersecurity Engineer and Information Technology professional in the federal government contracting space. Gerald was selected and featured as BE Modern Man 2019 by Black Enterprise which is an honor for his service in the black community.
Gerald is the founder of the Online Technology School for Black Boys where he is disrupting public education as it stands today by providing a platform to deliver a high tech education to black males that have been systematically locked out of Engineering and STEM careers.
His new book “Motivate Black Boys: How to Prepare for Careers in STEM” quickly went to #1 on the Amazon Best Sellers List in four categories on the 1st day of release. Gerald details his life in the book and how he beat the system coming from a dysfunctional disadvantaged public school district in Rochester, New York where he graduated with a 1.69 GPA. The book also provides the success playbook for economically disadvantaged black males that will change the narrative from school to prison to school to certification.
Gerald is a Socialpreneur and Education Activist whose sole mission is to close the income and opportunity gaps and provide young black males not only a high tech education but an education that is delivered by professional black males that look like them. As black males make up less than 5% of STEM and IT professionals, he sees a future where young black males become technically proficient and become Tech Entrepreneurs, Engineers, Developers and Designers on the producer side and not just consumers of technology.
Gerald was born in Rochester, New York. He lived there until he went off to college at Norfolk State University where he achieved a bachelor of science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. He settled in the Washington, DC Metro area where he lives today.
